This morning AdAge covered our 2009 Marketing Trends Report that Anderson Analytics conducted with the Marketing Executives Networking Group (MENG).

I thought I would briefly summarize the two areas of the report I find interesting and get asked most questions about: who are the marketing gurus and what books are worth reading. If you want a complete summary report you can download a PowerPoint presentation from: http://www.andersonanalytics.com/…

I thought I would briefly summarize the two areas of the report I find interesting and get asked most questions about: who are the marketing gurus and what books are worth reading. If you want a complete summary report you can download a PowerPoint presentation from: http://www.andersonanalytics.com/index.php?page=white-papers

In terms of books, Good to Great remained the most recent book read as well as the most recommended all time business book. Several books from last year’s Recently Read List remained on our list this year as well. Other recently read books included: The Tipping Point, The World is Flat, Groundswell, Blink, Hot Flat and Crowded, Blue Ocean Strategy, Made to Stick, The Black Swan, Predictably Irrational, Mavericks at Work, Who Moved my Cheese, Execution, The New Rules of Marketing and PR, The Art of the Start, Purple Cow, Go Put Your Strengths to Work, and Our Iceberg is Melting.

If you’re a successful marketer or want to be one and haven’t heard of many of these influential thought leaders and books, then get to a bookstore or Amazon.com ASAP!
