It has been over two years since Salesforce announced the launch of Salesforce1, the mobile-first CRM platform that lets businesses easily integrate third party services including Evernote, Dropbox and LinkedIn to their CRM interface. The objective of the app is to consolidate the various web service offerings into one application that businesses can use to engage with customers. Despite the popularity of it, not all businesses make complete use of the Salesforce1 at their workplace.

Salesforce1 helps users stay up to speed on all the holistic details they will require on a day-to-day basis. This includes real-time sales dashboards, appointment calendars and pipelines along with the ability to collaborate, organize and manage on the move. Salesforce1 comes integrated with over 300 third party apps that should help you consolidate your information from across your various business tools into one handy mobile application.

If you are a Salesforce customer, you may already have a fair idea of everything mentioned above. But why exactly would you need it? Here are some benefits that Salesforce1 provides.

Robust framework for apps : One of the biggest benefits of Salesforce1 is its ability to let businesses build custom mobile apps for their customers or administrators quickly and efficiently. It already has all the necessary integrations securely in place and so you, as a developers, can bring them all together without having to rebuild the app from scratch.

Ease of integration : Salesforce launched a new version of the Salesforce1 app called Lightning that makes the ease of integration simpler than it already was. Lightning is a component-based framework that lets developers drag-and-drop different components of an application without having to write the code themselves. The event-driven architecture also allows enables decoupling; a term used to refer to the ability for various components of an app to function independent of each other, including a parallel access to memory.

Cloud-based upgrades :Everything that you can build over a marketing cloud platform like Salesforce1 can be done by your own developers from scratch. But the advantage with this framework is that it is based completely off the cloud. This essentially means continual upgrades to your security, reporting engine, interface, analytics, process management and integration. Not only do you get access to powerful reporting and database capabilities without building them from scratch, you can also ensure that the back-end engines are robust and updated at all times.

Competitiveness in business is largely measured in agility today. Salesforce1 helps businesses build custom applications that cater to specific needs of the sales team or the customers. This not only helps you cater to niche business requirements at short turnaround times, but also enables businesses build a competitive edge over rivals that do not have an equally agile framework. At the same time, a cloud-based framework like Salesforce1 helps developers offload critical, yet non-focus areas of an app like security and analytics engine to a company that does it well. This way, you only focus on what your customers want and how you can get to them as quick as possible.
