A little while ago when Jeremiah Owyang and Ray Wang from Altimeter Group created their report on 18 use cases for Social CRM they also created a Google Group called Social CRM Pioneers (which currently is just shy of 400 members) where thought leaders, practitioners, and those just eager to learn; get together to talk about everything related to Social CRM.  I’m fortunate enough to be a member and moderator of the group (thanks Jeremiah) and I want to encourage my readers to become members as well, if not to participate directly then to at least follow the conversations and chime in when possible.

The pioneers groups has a lot of great conversations, discussions, and ideas on Social CRM and features amazing contributors such as (along with yours truly):

If you join please don’t sell or spam the group.  We exist as a way to help advance the Social CRM discussions that are taking place.  I thought I’d highlight a few conversations of interest just to get you guys going:

Can you do “Social CRM” without Social Media/Networks? – a great discussion started by Bob Thompson from Customer Think
The Perfect SCRM Framework– a discussion I just recently started to see if we can work backwards from an ideal SCRM scenario
What does it mean to the most important person of all, the Customer?– a discussion started by Mitch Lieberman, lots of great thoughts and ideas here.
Again if you’re looking to get more familiar with Social CRM, whether you’re an agency, an enterprise company looking to implement, or just someone who wants to learn; I highly recommend you join the group.
The amount of quality (and yes free) information that this group creates and shares is extremely valuable so do yourself a favor and join, you’ll be glad you did.

You can get started here by introducing yourself to the Social CRM Pioneers Group.
Hope to see you guys there and don’t be shy!
