Currently, we are in the run-up to this year’s Teradata Universe in Berlin. In the coming weeks, we want to give you a taste of what we have been preparing. A joint study by the European Business School and Teradata has clearly shown that supply chain management in the automotive industry could be significantly enhanced with data warehousing – and help carmakers operate more profitably.

What about other industries? Let’s have a look at retail, certainly one of the most competitive of all industries. Mr. Silvester Macho of Metro, one of our long-standing customers in Europe, has agreed to deliver a keynote address in Berlin to tell us what Teradata has done for them in recent months.

For Teradata, web analytics is one of this year’s hottest topics. This is because a) more and more commerce is going online and b) Teradata’s recently introduced Extreme Performance Appliance 4555, using the power of SSD technology, makes real-time analyses of browsing behaviour much easier and more affordable. Together with some of our partners, we have recently been investing a lot of time in this field, and I am sure our debates in Berlin will help to take us and our customers even further.

So let me take this opportunity to invite you to attend the Teradata Universe Conference 2010. Click on the video to see me doing just that.
