Three Sites to Check Out for Business Analytics Info

2 Min Read

Business analytics is a broad subject area–so for most of us, it’s something of a challenge to stay on top of trending topics, locate useful resources, and keep an eye on the big picture.  But you might get a helping hand from one or more of these websites.

TechTarget’s SearchBusinessAnalytics.com is a well-organized gateway to all things analytical, from WhatIs definitions to white papers to videos, news, and more.  Tabs offer focused content (neatly sorted into sub-topics) on BI Technology, BI Management, Data Analytics, and Data Visualization.  Perks of the site include access to expert tips and book excerpts.  Recent and read-worthy:  a concise overview of Gartner’s report on cloud analytics.

At ModernAnalyst.com, “the premier community for business analysts, business process professionals, systems analysts, data analysts, and more,” resources include free templates, a job board, a book store, a blog—and even a weekly cartoon.  Emphasis here is on the analyst rather than the analytics, but there’s plenty of interesting material for anyone involved in the data arena.

BusinessWeek’s Business Exchange is a community site that “allows users to create business topics, collaboratively aggregate content from the entire Web and connect with other business focused users around these topics.”  You can associate a Business Exchange account with your LinkedIn profile, and either contribute to or just visit the Business Analytics topic area for news items, blog posts, even job listings—and items of interest can be saved for later reading.  Business Exchange is fairly new (still in beta) so the content is not very rich yet, but if diversity and activity increase, the site could evolve into a significant information community.  For now, anyway, it’s worth a look.
