A picture may tell a thousand words, but what stories can you tell with a moving picture? We’ve touched on the animation package for R before, but the blog “Using R” has some great examples of using it to create animations of various kinds. The animations are visual demonstrations of bootstrapping, coin-tossing, confidence intervals and (my favourite) the Newton-Raphson root-finding algorithm in action.
