Privacy advocates including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Center for Digital Democracy, Electronic Frontier Foundation, met with Barack Obama’s FTC transition team to press for tighter regulation regarding the use of consumer data and “behavioral targeting” by online advertisers.
C.D.D. Executive Director Jeff Chester, critical of Bush administration policies, is “expecting the Obama team to take a better approach.”
