Today’s federal cybersecurity and information technology news round-up:

  • As predicted, the House of Representatives passed the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) last night. More here.
  • The Nuclear Risk Reduction Center, established as a secure communications channel between the USSR and United States to prevent a misunderstanding from launching a nuclear war, will be used to increase cyber transparency between the US and Russia in a new deal approaching completion. More here.
  • The  Defense Information Systems Agency is  bringing in a Passive Vulnerability Scanner for 3D modeling of weaknesses in the Department of Defense networks. More here.
  • A White House report outlines a plan for major Internet service providers to team up to combat intellectual property theft by cracking down on misuse of peer-to-peer networks. More here.
