Kognitio‘s announcement about partnering with Nextanalytics to combine data warehousing SaaS style with embedded analytics seems to be the way the world of data warehousing and appliances are heading in general. As organizations look for cost-effective solutions (especially with the current state of the economy), the ability to combine analytics and front-end BI within a data warehousing framework slowly shifts the perception of BI offerings. With traditional offerings coming from general BI vendors, the transition in the data warehousing world will slowly change the way organizations look at BI in general and what options are available to them.
