Maddy Osman recently wrote an excellent post about the importance of big data in ecommerce. Osman points out that there are currently 44 zetabytes of data available. This data can be incredibly useful for optimizing an ecommerce brand, especially if it used with deep learning.

Deep Learning is Essential to the Future of eCommerce

There has never been a better time to start an ecommerce store. Deep learning provides powerful technology to make it work better.

I mean, for starters, most of the population now prefers to shop online. Then combine that with the fact that to start an online store all you need is a laptop, an internet connection, and an idea, and you have a recipe for success.

Well, almost anyway. There are lots of ways that big data can help with ecommerce branding, but you need to know how to use it properly.

See, there are a couple of key elements you need to consider if you plan on building a successful ecommerce business.

And here they are. You can find more details in this post.

1. Identify a Place in the Market

When it comes to creating an ecommerce business, there are a multitude of ways you can turn a profit.

If you have skills or knowledge in a specific area, you can create and sell educational content. If you don’t have any profitable skills, you have the ability to sell physical products, or even opt to dropship products.

Hell, if you have a content specific qualification, you can even sell your services online.

They key to making any of them work comes down to finding your place in the market. This is one of the ways that deep learning can be most useful. You can use Hadoop tools to mine data on the market and forecast trends with deep learning algorithms.

Finding a gap in the market that needs to be filled will ultimately drive what you choose to sell. Within this, it will also identify the type of customers you want, and therefore the content you create.

Without first identifying a place in the market, you have no direction — and your chance of success is limited.

2. Settle on a Business Name and a Domain

Alright, so you have worked out what you are going to be doing with your ecommerce store — now it is time to come up with a name, and find a domain to match.

You have some obvious flexibility when it comes to creating a business name, although you generally want to ensure they adhere to the following principles:

  • It should be easy to pronounce
  • Relevant to your field or product
  • As short as possible
  • Should not contain numbers
  • Needs to be original

If it ticks all of these boxes, there is a good chance you have found something that will work. There are a number of deep learning tools that can help. They can find correlations between search engine rankings and domain names. You can do this with a data mining tool that connects to a service like SEMRush and conduct a regression analysis.

Once you have a name sorted, you need to see if the matching web domain is available. To check this, you can simply hop over to a domain registry and quickly search if your name is available to use.

If it is available, snap it up as quickly as possible — and if it isn’t, well, back to the drawing board I guess.

3 Create Your Website

Next it is time to build your website. AI can help you optimize your website around a particular target audience.

Not so long ago this was arguably the most challenging step in the process. To build a website from scratch, you either needed some exceptional IT skills, or to be willing to pay someone who does.

But not anymore.

In fact, I would argue that creating a website has recently become one of the easiest steps in your journey to an ecommerce store.

There are various web platforms that allow you to build an online store in minutes. As a bonus, these also come with themes you can use, and integrate numerous payment features into your website for you.

In essence, you sign up, and you can have a website in minutes.

4. Focus on Content Creation

Now your website is up and running, you need to actually get people to visit — which is why content is so important.

Firstly, publishing high quality written content on your site makes it more visible to search engines like Bing and Google. This means that if someone is interested in the area of your business, you will be more likely to appear at the top of the search results.

Secondly, offering up great content free of chargeenhances your reputation as a good business. This reputation is what keeps people coming back time and time again.

So, what type of content?

I recommend trying to publish longer blog posts, short opinion pieces, and product reviews on a weekly basis. This combination provides a broad range of content that will be useful to your customers, while also keeping you at the top of google’s first page.

What About Buying an Ecommerce Store?

There is obviously quite a bit of work that goes into building an ecommerce store. It involves a huge amount of work to get off the ground, and often comes with little financial reward for the first 6-18 months.

But there is another option — a somewhat easier option.

You can buy an ecommerce store.

There are websites like Exchange Marketplace where people buy and sell already established online stores. Choosing this route means that you can analyze profit margins and customer interaction before purchasing.

This removes a lot of the uncertainty that comes with creating a store from scratch.

Deep Learning is Invaluable to the Success of Ecommerce Branding

Deep learning is very important for the ecommerce field. You can use this AI technology to solve all kinds of problems. While practically anyone can start an online store, there are a few things you want to do to ensure its success. This means finding a place in the market, coming up with a good business name, building a great website, and creating amazing content.

Or you could always buy an eCommerce store — I mean, the choice is yours.
