We’re as happy as clams here at REvolution, because Danese Cooper has joined REvolution Computing’s management team as our Open Source Diva. Danese has a wealth of experience and recognition in the open-source world: previously, she created and managed the Open Source Programs Office for Sun Microsystems, and most recently was the senior director for open-source strategies for Intel. Danese will continue her role as a board member of the Open Source Initiative, promoting open-source software. She is also a member of the Apache Software Foundation and serves on a special advisory board for Mozilla.org. There’s more information about Danese…

We're as happy as clams here at REvolution, because Danese Cooper has joined REvolution Computing's management team as our Open Source Diva. There's more information about Danese on Wikipedia (although it's now a little out of date).

Here at REvolution, Danese and I will be working to create new programs to better support user groups for R, and to develop new community assets. (Yes, that's a bit vague now — but you'll hear more about these initiatives in the coming months on this blog and elsewhere.) Danese and I will also be speaking at a number of venues over the summer: again, more details soon.
