Update About “active” vs. “inactive” Users: Google+ User Stats from Findpeopleonplus

Since our infographic came out about the current Google+ userbase on Friday, we received several comments about posting the active vs. inactive user data without knowing exactly how it was determined.

We are sorry if this mislead anyone and for any confusion this may have caused.

Since our infographic came out about the current Google+ userbase on Friday, we received several comments about posting the active vs. inactive user data without knowing exactly how it was determined.

We are sorry if this mislead anyone and for any confusion this may have caused.

Since then, Sharon Machlis has received a tweet confirming that a user is classed as active if they have posted at least once publicly on G+. Findpeopleonplus have admitted that this perhaps was not clear at the outset and that they will rename the field.

We have taken this particular analysis out of the infographic as many feel that the data is simply not accurate enough.

We have updated both the original post and the infographic to reflect these changes.
