To put a nice bow on this year’s big data discussion, I’d like to share some of my favorite content from 2014 from around the web. 	It’s Official: The Internet of Things Takes Over Big Data as the Most Hyped Technology Gil Press, Forbes A review of Gartner’s 2014 Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies. I always look forward to Gil’s analysis of the latest research and trends.
	Chief Data Officer: The True Dean of Big Data? Bill Schmarzo, EMC InFocus Questions clients are asking Bill about the CD(M)O role. He shares the challenges of this new role and monetizing data.
	Terms of Service: Understanding Our Role in the World of Big Data Michael Keller and Josh Neufeld, Aljazeera America An online comic book about big data, privacy, and the future of sharing. It’s both thought-provoking and entertaining.
	A Non-Geek’s Big Data Playbook: Hadoop and the Enterprise Data Warehouse Tamara Dull, SAS Best Practices A white paper written for the technologically-savvy business professional. SAS tells me this has been a very popular download. #shamelessplug
	Intelligence by Variety: Where to Find and Access Big Data Kapow Software An infographic that shows the ‘what’ and ‘where’ of big data. It’s one of the best reference infographics I’ve seen on big data.
	The Driverless Car YouTube: HBO’s Silicon Valley A 3-minute clip from episode 6 of HBO’s Silicon Valley. This is big/machine/IoT data in action and it’s absolutely hilarious! I’ve only watched it 3 17 62 times.
