Monday, millions of Americans will be off work in celebration of the 119th official Labor Day. The holiday actually dates back to 1882, but it took more than a decade to become a federal holiday.

Monday, millions of Americans will be off work in celebration of the 119th official Labor Day. The holiday actually dates back to 1882, but it took more than a decade to become a federal holiday.

In celebration of this day of rest, BBQ (the third most popular day behind July 4 and Memorial Day) and travel, we thought it would be fun to explore the data analytics of America’s labor force. In the following infographic, courtesy of CreditDonkey.com, you’ll see a breakdown of America’s most common jobs, the commutes we all endure and the average number of hours Americans clock to make a living.

In addition, you’ll see that the highest areas of job growth is in data analytics arena! Network systems and data communications analysts are expected to grow by 53% between 2006 and 2016 (see below).
